pretty sure the shift is mostly due to the changes made to how the charts are made in germany. in the mid 10s they started incorporating streaming numbers from spotify etc and young people dont really buy music anymore, but stream instead. so the rap artists who previously wouldnt, now dominate those rankings

I was a Field Service Engineer for ASML supporting the installation and sustaining of these tools at Intel, NXP Semiconductor, IBM and Global Foundries. Good company and definitely a step ahead of the competition. Their competition is Nikon ( Japanese ) Canon ( Japanese ), among others. Nikon was the KING in the 90’s, when INTEL was the king of chip making.. they had an exclusive deal with Nikon, just like TSMC does to day with ASML. I now work for a company called Applied Materials… there isn’t a chip in the world that hasn’t gone through an AMAT Tool. Look them up!!

LOL, the Gürteltier is the belt animal, not the belch animal ROFL Thank you, made my day. You can replace "that letter" (ß) by ss. Actually, the ß is a combination of the Old German letters s and z and make a sharp s together. Vielfraß ist a translation error. In Scandinacia, it is called something like a fjell frett, which means mountain cat. When Germans heard fjell frett, they found it sounded like Vielfraß - "eats a lot".

btw: The "IC" -> microchip was invented by Jack Kilby (and Robert Noyce). He received the Nobel price in physics for that. And since then he is called "the father of the microchip". So, it was invented in the US. ...but the first programmable(!) computer was build by Kontrad Zuse (Berlin).

Computers are not an invention of modern times, nor are they solely a German invention, even though Konrad Zuse's work led to the first reliable electronic programmable computer in Germany. The ideas and principles behind modern programmables computers existed over 100 years earlier. Long before the modern era, the term 'computer' referred to a person who performed calculations. In ancient Greece, around 200 BC, mechanisms like the Antikythera mechanism were created to calculate astronomical constellations. However, the foundational principles of modern computer architecture were first introduced by Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace. In the 1820s, Charles Babbage began developing the 'Difference Engine', a mechanical calculator designed to compute polynomial functions. Although never completed in his lifetime, the Difference Engine was the first mechanical device intended to automate complex calculations. Later, in the 1830s, Babbage conceptualized the 'Analytical Engine', which was far more advanced and included principles foundational to modern computers. The Analytical Engine was designed to include a control unit, arithmetic logic unit, memory, and input/output mechanisms-core components of modern computer architecture. It also introduced the concept of programmability using punched cards, a method inspired by the Jacquard loom. Moving forward to the 20th century, Konrad Zuse made significant advancements in computer technology. In 1941, he developed the Z3, the world's first working electromechanical, programmable computer. Unlike Babbage's mechanical designs, the Z3 used electrical relays, which allowed for faster and more reliable calculations. The Z3 was programmed using punched tape and could perform a variety of complex computations, marking a crucial step towards modern computing. Meanwhile, Alan Turing laid the theoretical foundation for computer science with his concept of the Turing machine in 1936. The Turing machine is an abstract mathematical model that helps us understand what it means for a function to be computable. It consists of a tape divided into cells (which can be seen as memory), a tape head that can read and write symbols on the tape, and a set of rules (an algorithm) that dictate the machine's operations based on its current state and the symbol it reads. Turing's groundbreaking insight was that any calculation or algorithm that can be precisely defined can be performed by a Turing machine, given enough time and tape. This means that a Turing machine can, in theory, simulate the logic of any computer algorithm, making it a fundamental model for understanding computation itself. This concept of a universal machine was pivotal in the development of modern computers and the theory of computation. Together, these pioneers-Babbage, Lovelace, Zuse, and Turing-each contributed uniquely to the evolution of computing. Babbage and Lovelace introduced the architectural principles, Zuse brought these principles into practical application with his electromechanical machines, and Turing provided the theoretical framework that underpins modern computer science

If you live in a German city, the next supermarket isn't very far away, so there is no need to store a huge amount of food in the fridge. Many people will have another, bigger freezer in the basement for more food, especially if they have children. You'll find these basements with open stalls only in city buildings that are normally older then 100 years. Newer houses have cellars with small, separate rooms for every apartment in the building. And in the cities the supermarkets are not supersized, you won't spent hours in them to fill your shipping cart. And if you are urgent need for some food, there are a lot of kiosk/spätis in the cities and the next kebab/carry out shop is round the corner.

If DESMA would be gone for some reason we need to go to the cobbler again. All shoes with foam plastic and rubber soles would be gone for good.

16:47 there are tutorials on youtube on how to set up a whole bunch of AIs that create such videos on their own. using text generation, fitting stock footage, and text to speech. youtube is filled with these generated vids. bots are not only in the comments haha its way easier to give some prompts for a video idea and let the algorithms make all the work, just do the tweaking. easy money (compared to writing the scripts, finding all the stock footage yourself, cutting and all) could probably just change "dark side of living in germany" to any other nation, and voila got another video to upload.
